Rainbow A rainbow is an arch of light formed in the sky opposite the sun. It exhibits the colors of the solar spectrum, a contínuos band of seven colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, índigo and violet (purple). The phenomenon is observed when a cloud, about to become rain, meet the solar rays. A similar phenomenon is observed near the falls when the innumerous drops of water in the air are illuminated by the sun.
